I am a 39 yr. old mother of three, who, before I came here, was a complete dental phobic. As a result, my teeth were broken, missing, discolored. In other words, they were so bad that I thought that they were a lost cause. Besides, every time I went to the dentist before, all I got was a lot of pain and many lectures – NEVER any understanding or HOPE. Recently, my friend Linda told me about Preferred Dental. She had an upper denture done at the Douglaston location and was very happy with it. So, with a lot of trepidation, I let her bring me here, expecting the worst. Well, it was the complete opposite! EVERYONE here was nothing but kind, respectful, and most important, they told me they could help me. First, I needed to get prepared for both an upper and a lower denture. I needed to have 19 surgical and 5 regular extractions. The oral surgeon you referred me to (Dr. Tabarorki) was also nothing but kind and respectful. He made sure that getting the 24 extractions at once was as pain free as possible, AND he had an assistant there just to hold my hand and offer me support, which meant SO MUCH to me. Now I’m here to pick up my dentures, which are GORGEOUS! The staff here and my dentist, Dr. Trivedi, are all so wonderful, and I have already recommended both Preferred Dental and Dr. Tabarorki to many people. Thanks to you, I am able to smile with confidence for the first time in my life! You will never begin to know how much that means to me.

Qualifications for Preferred Dental Care Chelsea
Dr. Rajesh Kamdar
Dr. Kamdar began his dental career at Nair Hospital and Dental College in Bombay, India, earning his BDS (Bachelor in Dental Surgery) there in 1971. Spending one year interning at his alma mater in both the Departments of Operative Dentistry and Pedodontics, he then passed the National Board and New York State Board Exams, earning his New York State License as a General Dentist in 1975. He went to work at Laguardia Hospital for the IV Team before becoming an Associate and practicing General Dentistry with Dr. Israel and Dr. Kirshen in the Bronx and later began his own private practice in Massapequa, New York. He became a dentist to help patients restore their smile and tooth function, because he feels it is a very gratifying goal to achieve. In 1981 Dr. Kamdar became owner of Preferred Dental Associates, practicing General Dentistry full time, building a successful practice which continues to this day. He also continues his education, plays golf and tennis and enjoys studying management courses. A particular joy Dr. Kamdar relishes in is helping struggling students with their tuition, books, and housing needs in his native India.
Dr. Medhat Awad
Dr. Awad graduated from Cairo University in Egypt with a BDS in 1991 and then from NYU with an HDD in Oral Surgery in 2000. He became a dentist to help people have a better quality of life through proper health care. His personal interests include playing soccer, table tennis, running, and reading.
Dr. Sanford Schimmel
Dr. Schimmel graduated from NYU Dental School in 1969. He became a dentist, because he was always interested in helping people and improving the aesthetics of their smiles. He also has been a past president of the Bronx County Dental Society, and he is currently a delegate to the American Dental Society. In his spare time, Dr. Schimmel enjoys jogging, tennis.
Dr. Lawrence Schimmel
Dr. Schimmel graduated from NYU Dental School in 2001. His passion for dentistry stems from his desire to help people look and feel their best. In his spare time, he enjoys scuba diving, playing the guitar, and playing with his two kids.
