First Visit
During the planning, treatment options can be discussed pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of each. Also the costs and length of time until completion of each option can be determined. In more complicated cases, additional records may be required to adequately plan a treatment sequence.

Qualifications for Richard L. Rodgers, D.D.S.
Originally from the St Louis area, Dr. Rodgers’ family moved to Atlanta when he was 10 years old. He grew up attending Shallowford Elementary and Dunwoody High School. At an early age he began thinking of Dentistry as a profession. After receiving a good deal of encouragement and completing a couple of science projects concerning teeth he had decided to follow the educational pathway that would lead him to becoming a dentist.
Dr. Rodgers attended Vanderbilt University for his undergraduate studies and finished with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the double Major of Molecular Biology and Mathematics. He was fortunate to get accepted by Emory University School of Dentistry after only three years at Vanderbilt and equally fortunate to be able to receive his B.A. through a Senior-in-Absentia program. By the summer of 1985 he graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry with a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery and became licensed to practice in Georgia.
In his spare time Dr. Rodgers enjoys acting in amateur theatrical productions. Although he has not been able to be involved in as many as he would like he still keeps an eye out for an opportunity to meet new friends and entertain people.
Volunteering his time and skills has been an aspect of Dr. Rodgers' life for many years. Starting with his volunteer work at Vanderbilt Hospital up through his twenty years of service with Atlanta’s Ben Massell Dental Clinic, giving back to the community has been a source of fulfillment for him. Recently he became involved with a group of people trying to improve the lives of people of St Pierre, Haiti. This village, in one of the most remote areas of that beleaguered country, is in dire need of medical and dental services as well as many of the basic necessities such as clean water and electricity.
