Videos

  • Introduction

An introduction to Dr. Winters practice.

  • Why Dentures?

"My teeth were all bad" was our patient's response to the question, Why Dentures? Many patients hear from doctors, dentists and even their friends ... that getting dentures made might not be a good decision. Circumstances vary from patient to patient however. Watch this short decision making video that reflects how one patient had no difficulties in making the decision to get the treatment that was best for him.

  • Imtec MDI Surgery Experience: Patient Testimonial

A short testimonial from a patient who underwent full mouth MDI implant procedures. With few words and a "matter of fact" tone, the patient describes his overall treatment, including the number of implants and time required for the entire surgical procedure.

  • Snap In Dentures - Uppers and Lowers: They just "Pop!"

This "snappy" presentation shows a live interview with a patient who was fitted with Imtec MDI mini implants on the upper and lower jaw (maxilla and mandible) and demonstrates how he places and removes his new dentures. A man of few words, the patient briefly describes the "feeling" of using Snap In Dentures.

  • Wanting something Different - Dr. Rick's Bone Loss #101

This patient discusses how he, like many other denture wearers, got used to wearing dentures. But he wanted something different. After listening to Dr. Rick's version of Bone Loss #101 and researching the internet... he decides to convert to mini implants

  • Singing the Praises of Snap-In Dentures

Our patient becomes very animated when he describes what it is like to put in his new implant supported denture every day... and then reveals the foods he can eat that all denture wearers want to eat

  • Dentist Selection

A patient discusses his first experiences and impressions with our office and initial consult services with Dr. Winter and how they have differed with other dentists in the past. He also explains how he arrived at selecting Dr. Winter to be his dentist of choice.

  • No Pain

Pain management and anxiety management is different for everyone. For many folks, it is the anxiety and anticipated perception of pain that interferes the most with people getting treatment when they need it. The patient readily admits to "not liking" dentists and jokes about "men should be strong" in certain situations. Like many patients, he had a basic fear of dentists.

  • Palate Finally Uncovered

First time denture wearers commonly report the disappointing changes that routinely occur with everyday eating, food choices, taste perception and certain speech behaviors. The patient describes the thrill (of sorts) of not only being able to enjoy food at a level he hadn't enjoyed in over 25 years. Other experiences involving speech and the comfort of having no plastic covering the roof of his mouth are detailed.

  • Advice for Bone Grafting Candidates

Patients who have been long term denture and partial denture wearers experience varying degrees of tissue loss. This patient, a 25 year denture veteran, discusses his perception of the advanced bone replacement procedures that were used to help him achieve the cosmetic and functional results he now enjoys. The patient offers suggestions to other patients and discusses whether or not he recommends it for others who seek what he sought.

  • New Bone and 18 Dental Implants

Some of the most advanced Periodontal and Prosthodontic bone and soft tissue regeneration procedures were used, along with 18 dental implants were used to assure that this patient would achieve the goal of having a mouthful of great looking and perfectly functioning teeth that he once had. The patient describes his "journey" through the process of getting what he wanted.... and has wanted for a long time.

  • Complex Reconstruction - A Personal Perspective

Summary discussion covering the entire experience of undergoing a lengthy but encompassing dental rehabilitation program.

  • Do It Again, Sam

Here our patient becomes quite animated about her assessment regarding the common question we ask ourselves about "knowing what you know now... would you do it all over again?"

  • The Science of Being Educated

Our patient discusses the common complaint amongst dental patients regarding the feeling of not understanding what and why different procedures are done.

  • Throw Away Those Partials

Over time, it is not difficult to adjust to wearing partials. Listen to an honest reaction to the ability to stop wearing partials.

  • Was It Worth It?

Reconstructive dentistry requires considerable investment of time and resources - our patient gives her honest opinion of the investment and results obtained.

  • Molar Extraction Surgery

Edited for graphic content and timeline, this segment outlines the surgical procedure used for extractracting two molars (including wisdom tooth) in the lower jaw. Warning: VERY GRAPHIC. See how molars are extracted after connective tissue attached to tooth roots is severed and appropriate pain management medications are administered for each both extraction sites.

  • Sinus Lift Surgery - Right Quadrant

Edited for GRAPHIC content and time constraints, this media segment outlines the process and procedures for performing a Sinus Lift surgery. See actual surgery sequences involved for performing sinus lift surgery that is accompanied by the insertion of bone grafting material as needed to fortify a dental implant site. Recommended viewing for patients considering standard implant placements in the maxilla (upper jaw).

  • Sinus Lift Surgery - Left Maxillary Quadrant

Our second multimedia file demonstrating dental surgery treatments (implant based tooth replacement and reparative sinus floor fortification) for a restoration solution that would replace a severely damaged tooth and prevent (minimize) anticipated sinus complications due to deficient bone structure. A somewhat common occurrence with upper jaw implants, sinus cavity complications can be overcome with accurate assessment and prudent use of pulverized grafting materials to fortify bone density that is potentially at risk.

  • Bone Expansion for Compromised - Deficient Jawbone Mass

A multimedia outline of how ridge splitting and bone expander instruments alter the integrity of jawbone material as it is being prepared for dental implants. Bone expansion can assure implant success for patients who have had a history of compromised jawbone mass. Implants for this patient (live surgery) were placed on upper and lower jaws. Patients seeking the use of advanced implant technologies for assuring long term implant success should watch this clip.

  • Live Surgery: 6 Imtec Mini Implant Placements in Upper (Maxillary) Jaw

A multimedia presentation of an entire mini implant placement procedure for converting regular dentures to an implant supported prosthesis. Watch how mini implants are aligned with the patient's denture product and how they are inserted into the maxillary bone. The material has been temporally condensed (time factor shortened) yet retains the essence of the surgical procedure from start to finish.

  • Live Surgery: 12 Mini Implant Placements in Upper and Lower Jaws

A total of 12 implants were placed, all within one treatment session that enabled a female patient to enjoy having replacement denture products that gave her the feeling of having natural teeth again. No more sloppy fitting and painful dentures. Placement procedures are efficient, straight forward and require no invasive surgeries nor bone grafting. The video sequences are shortened yet retain the essence of the surgical procedure from start to finish.
