Steven Abel, DMD, is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, receiving special awards in Sedation Dentistry. Following two years of practice in the Farmington area, Dr. Abel established a private practice in Mount Kisco, New York. He has focused his expertise towards cosmetic dentistry, dental reconstruction, smile makeovers, periodontal therapy, facial pain and headache-TMJ therapy, snoring/sleep apnea appliances, general dentistry, high speed orthodontics and sedation dentistry.
Dr. Abel was voted the top cosmetic dentist in Westchester County, and is "The Lumineer Dentist" and "The Invisalign Dentist" in the area, treating celebrities, models, and sports figures as well as residents of the area who just want a great smile!
Dr. Abel has trained with the worlds most prominent cosmetic dental specialists. Much of his education has been at private post-graduate institutes that are renown in the world for state-of-the-art cosmetic dental rehabilitation. These experiences working alongside the worlds most celebrated and accomplished cosmetic dentists, along with thousands of hours of continuing education, has uniquely prepared him to care for his patients. What was once known only as Dentistry for the Stars or Hollywood Dentistry is now common place for Dr. Abel’s patients.
Dr. Abel is the first dentist in the Westchester County area highly trained and skilled in the combined disciplines of cosmetic dentistry, TMJ-headache and facial pain treatment, snoring/sleep apnea therapy, high speed orthodontics, and sedation dentistry.
Dr. Abel practices an aggressive state-of-the-art approach toward treating chronic gum diseases known to be linked with heart disease, diabetes, alzheimer's disease, strokes, and other common medical problems. This can often be accomplished without the need for gum surgery.
As the current standards-of-care evolve to mandate multidisciplinary management of compromising medical conditions, Dr. Abel has created strong alliances with, and works closely with area physicians to help elevate patient care to these new standards. He is commonly known as the Doctor's Dentist because so many of the local physicians choose Dr. Abel as their dentist, seeking his expertise in treating both themselves and their families.
Dr. Abel is a member of New York State, Connecticut State, and the American Dental Associations, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Utilizing the latest in science and technology, his treatment philosophy is pragmatic, straight forward, and involves a multi-disciplinary approach. It represents a comprehensive and proactive approach to chronic periodontal disease, disorders of the TMJ/TMD, dental occlusion, obstructive sleep apnea, headaches & facial pain, and cosmetic dentistry.
