Why You Really Need a Top Dentist

There are a number of reasons it’s a better idea to see a Top Dentist rather than picking a dentist at random (or just finding the cheapest one you can). Let’s take a look at why the quality of your dentist is important.

Trust Is Essential

If you Google the phrase “dental horror stories,” you’d better have a strong stomach. The tales of people being operated on without anesthetic, having a drill dropped in their mouth or ending up with hepatitis from non-sterile instruments are cringe inducing. Good dentists certainly outnumber bad ones. But you don’t want to take a chance by just going to whatever dentist happens to be closest to your home or office. It only takes one negative experience with a subpar provider to keep a patient from going back to the dentist for years. By then, patients often have really serious dental issues that require extensive treatment. Don’t let this happen to you.

You Need Options

If a dentist doesn’t know how to perform more advanced procedures, they might not bring up these options in a consultation (perhaps because they don’t want you going elsewhere for treatment). You wouldn’t want to find out after the fact that your dentist used an outdated method or material to fix your teeth when there were better choices available. A Top Dentist can often give you more than one choice of treatment to address your dental woes. That way, you can weigh the pros and cons of each approach before signing on the consent form’s dotted line. This can certainly cut down on buyer’s remorse later. Plus, having more control over your choices may help you feel more relaxed about your procedure.

You Can Save Money

Would you rather have a dentist recommend the most expensive treatment or the most effective treatment? Top Dentists know better than to recommend a complete set of “caps” (crowns) to someone who could have their smile made over with much less invasive treatment. The best dentists build their practice on ensuring long-term patient satisfaction, not maximizing their billing by convincing you that you need work you really don’t. Plus, when you pay for high quality work, it’s likely to last longer and help prevent future dental problems.

People Aren’t Sharks

Sharks have about five rows of teeth at any one time – and they keep making new ones as the old ones fall out. But we humans only get one set of baby teeth and one set of grown up teeth. Even with the advances in dental prosthetics such as titanium and ceramic implants, you can never truly replace a lost tooth. Cherish the ones you have now and treat yourself to the dental care you deserve by investing in a Top Dentist.
